Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, your divine wheel is constructed with the four wheels of philosophy of Lord Shiva and the five wheels of philosophy of Goddess Sri Shakthi, hence it has become the residing place of you and it’s considered as the base of the Universe. These nine triangles in your sacred wheel create Ashtadhala, Shodhasha Dhala, Vruththathraya and Bhupurathrayam consists of lines and shapes, which build forty four Triangles.

Oh! Goddess Himavathi, I earnestly envision the unparalleled beauty and pride of Lord Shiva, which is difficult to explain by Lord Bhrama and illustrious poets.  Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi ! Whose dazzling features are difficult to visualize for the young maidens and celestial women, who are engrossed in severe austerities for a glance of the same.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, your divine glance showers abundance of merits to the worshipper, whether he is an elderly person or blind or a true ascetic, he will be approached by numerous young maidens with intense desire, disheveled hair locks, misplaced attire, slipped upper clothes from their raised bosom and dangling golden waist belts from their attractive physique.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, your lotus feet are resides above the Mooladhara, Manipuraka, Swadhishtana, Anahatha, Vishuddhi and Agna Chakra which consists of fifty six rays of the essence of Earth, fifty two rays of the essence of Water, Sixty two rays of the essence of the Fire, Fifty four rays of the essence of Air, Seventy two rays of the essence of Ether and sixty four rays of the essence of the Mind respectively.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, who is adorned the milky crescent moon as crown on head, showers boon and protection with two lotus hands, and the other two hands holding the crystal beads and sacred scriptures, whoever worships and prostrate before you would be blessed with sweet nectar like clarity of speech. 

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, whoever worships the lotus feet of you which has the resemblance of Lord Aditya at the early hours of dawn and dusk as well, those righteous worshippers who has the poetic skills would be blessed by Goddess Sri Saraswathi, eventually they will attain high proficiency in speech that would amuse and provide extreme bliss to the listeners.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, You are the source of Vasini and Kameshwari who are the originators of terminology and brilliance, and Ashtavag Devathas.  Whoever worships you would be blessed with the radiance of the face of Goddess Sri Saraswathi, eventually he will become the creator of remarkable nectar like words and great epics.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi ! Whoever worships the luster of your body as the source of radiance which has the resemblance of Lord Aditya, which is extended up in the sky and in the whole universe would be followed by the celestials damsels like Urvashi, with those beautiful eyes of inquisitive deer in the woods.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi ! The mother of the Universe! Whoever meditates upon your divine face in the middle of holy wheel, your raised bosom and the sacred form of Shivashakthi, as one after the other would be efficient in luring young maidens as well as in the three worlds.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi !  Whoever meditates upon you as the source of nectar that stream from your limbs and envisage you as the idol made of moon, would be capable to crush the pride of snakes like Garuda/King of birds and his nectar like vision would cure the people afflicted with fever.

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!

Soundarya Lahari consists of two parts; the first 41 verses are famously known as Ananda Lahari/Waves of happiness and the remaining part contains 59 verses was composed by Sri Adi Shankara.  It is believed that reciting the verses with utmost devotion and dedication would bring abundance of meritorious rewards.

The Supreme Lord Shiva who is the provider of auspiciousness, with his female force Goddess Sri Shakthi/Parvati becomes competent to control the functions of this Universe; otherwise the supreme Lord Shiva remains obstinate.  Thus, Goddess Sri Shakthi who is venerated by Lord Vishnu, Lord Rudra and Lord Brahma, whoever does not have the fortune to worship or eulogize the glories of Goddess Sri Shakthi would remain unskillful.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi, Lord Bhama meticulously creates the Universe and its creatures, with the precious dust particle from your golden lotus feet.  Lord Vishnu on Adishesha, scrupulously holds this Universe on his thousand hoods and preserves it.  Ultimately Lord Maheshwara performs the function of destruction of the Universe and smears the sacred ashes all over his body.

This precious dust particle eradicates the darkness of ignorance in unintelligent and shines like the place where Aditya resides.  It work like the nectar of wisdom from the alluring flowers in unwise, it act like the cluster of precious Gems/Chinthamani in the life of underprivileged, it act like the fierce teeth of Lord Varaha for those who are immersed in the material life.

Oh Goddess Sri Shakthi ! Protector of the Universe! Your lotus feet are the safe haven for the entire world.  Your lotus hands are capable to provide protection as well as blessings, your lotus feet are competent to unveil the perils and it’s capable to protect from fears and fulfils the desires.

Oh !Goddess Sri Shakthi! Bestower of boon, Lord Vishnu worshipped you and attained the form of a beautiful feminine and enticed Tripurari/Lord Shiva.  Lord Manmatha venerated you and attained a form which is visible for Goddess Rathi and stirred the heart of great ascetics with full of passion and lust. 

Oh ! Himagirisuthey (daughter of Lord Himavan), You are adorned with the bow made of flowers and its string made out of honey bees, five fresh alluring flowers as arrows, your warrior is spring and the chariot is Lord Vayu.  Lord Manmatha who was burnt by the third eye of Lord Shiva, received your glance and attained a form out of your compassion, eventually he became victorious in the entire universe.

Oh ! Goddess Sri Shakthi, who has nectar like sweet voice and enchanting waist, little curve on your body due the heaviness of raised bosom, attractive face has the resemblance of Lord
Chandra, holding bow, arrow, noose and goad in hands and the  pride of Lord Tripurari, who burnt the three cities of Tripura I earnestly pray to appear before us.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi ! who resides in Chinthamani which is situated in the middle of milky ocean is encircled by wish fulfilling Kalpavruksha and the garden of Kadamba in Manidhvipa, she resides in extreme bliss in a grand throne, seated on the lap of Lord Shiva and in the palace made of precious Chinthamani gems  which is worshipped by only fortunate ones.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi ! Who blissfully resides with Lord Parameshwara in the Sahasrara, after successfully crossing the six status which are the power of Earth - Mooladharam, power of Water - Manipooram, power of fire - Swadhishtanam,  Power of air - Anahatham, Vishnuddhi and Angna.

Oh! Goddess Sri Shakthi! The nectar gushes out of the lotus feet of Goddesses rested on the thousand petal lotus cleanses the seventy thousands veins located in the form of nature, shortly returns from the Lord Chandra to Adhara Chakra, eventually settles in Mooladhara, coiling your body like a serpent and sleep.   Thus Goddess Sri Shakthi has attained the name Kundalini.

Jaya Jaya Sankara Hara Hara Sankara !!

Oh! Supreme Lord Shiva/Rajamouli, whose matted hair locks are adorned with the crescent moon! My ignorance in the heart that was formed as wild obscurity has been remained aloof by the ocean of your mercy.  The intelligence and wisdom which provides eternal bliss and removes the miseries has been restored in my heart.  I venerate your lotus feet which are capable to provide prosperity/ the condition of enjoying wealth, success, good fortune and make available liberty from the cycles of birth and death/salvation.

Oh! Lord Gauripathi, I have been freed from sins, desolation, misfortune, disasters, ego and maltreatment, by your grace filled with ultimate compassion.  I repeatedly recite your glorious myth which provides supreme bliss and earnestly pray to protect me from this birth itself.

Oh! Lord Girijanatha, Oh! Lord Gauripathi, Oh! Lord Paramashiva, who’s matted hair locks are adorned with the crescent moon and has blue throat, who is the sole possessor of this Universe and the origin of ultimate luster, I earnestly pray to keep my mind successively filled with your glorious myths.

Which recites or speaks about the glories of the Supreme Lord Shiva/Paramashiva is called a Tongue, which envisions the glorious form of Supreme Lord Shiva is known as Eyes, which venerates the idol of Supreme Lord relentlessly is called Hands and finally who always remember the supreme Lord is labeled as the liberated soul.

Oh! Supreme Lord Shiva, Oh! Lord Bhavanipathi, I earnestly pray to remove the doubt that persists in you about ‘My feet are tender and your heart is extremely hard’.  If so, how it would be possible to conduct journeys through the woods and hills?

Oh! Lord Tripurari, who conquered the world of Tripura! I earnestly pray to control my mind like untamed elephant, with the courageous of goad and chain of firm devotion, instantly tie on a pillar like your lotus feet with the supreme knowledge of Brahmam.

Oh! Lord Parameshwara, My mind is like an untamed elephant wandering restlessly and aimlessly with all that egos, I earnestly pray to tie my wander lust mind solicitously with the knowledge of firm devotion.

Oh! Supreme Lord Shiva, Oh! Lord Gauripriya , who is decked in superior status with finer jewels, walks with charismatic charm, who has possessed all the virtues and has golden complexion, who is praised by the virtuous, who has striking qualities, mesmerizing physical features and boundless compassion, who has possessed the opulence and promising qualities, I earnestly pray to accept my humble verses in praising you.  Oh! Lord Gauripathi, I earnestly pray to accept the above verses of Shivananda Lahari which is my maiden poetry that has simple phrases and enunciation, possessed supreme qualities and praised by the virtuous.

Oh! Supreme Lord Shiva, Oh! Lord of the ocean of Mercy, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu has the intense desire to witness your matted hair locks and lotus feet was disguised in the form of Swan and wild boar respectively, eventually journeyed through the sky and under earth in search of you and have undergone several hardships.  Oh! Lord Shambu, Oh! Lord Paramashiva, how are you going to reveal yourself in front me? Is this fair to you?

Oh! Supreme Lord Shambu, who is the supreme deity, has no beginning or no end, worshipped by the deities and Lord Brahma, who is venerated as supreme Lord and praised by the deities who has the knowledge of you as the excellent in excellence and assume themselves as the outer cover of a grain, I don’t make any false statements therefore I conclude praising you.
